Goldcrest is designed around researched XAUUSD conditions. You do not need external research presets or a long list of strategy optimization inputs to begin a supported demo setup.
Choose requested trade risk
Account Risk (%) requests initial-stop exposure from current equity. The prepared default is 0.10%, with a 1.00% upper risk-input limit. Check the installed release; realized losses can exceed the requested amount.
Pause new entries deliberately
Turn Enable New Entries off while leaving the EA attached and active to retain management of existing Goldcrest positions. Removing the EA or stopping MT5 interrupts dynamic management.
Review the operating state
Use the on-chart status panel and Experts/Journal messages to check initialization or understand a skipped entry. No immediate trade is expected after installation.
Keep account exposure in view
Broker volume, margin, quote and stop-distance checks can prevent an entry. Multiple positions, gaps, slippage and costs can increase total exposure beyond one requested trade-risk percentage.
COMPATIBILITY
Check your MT5 setup first.
- MetaTrader 5 desktop with the MQL5 Market account and license for the released product.
- Retail Hedging account. Netting and Exchange account modes are not supported under the prepared customer requirements.
- XAUUSD M1 is the researched reference and recommended first chart. Confirm your broker’s gold symbol and contract requirements.
- Demo first, with enough margin, market data, trading permissions and a reliable connection.
Using a prop-firm account? Check that firm’s EA, hedging, exposure, news and loss-limit rules. Goldcrest does not guarantee compliance or challenge outcomes.
EA QUICK START
Install Goldcrest through MQL5 Market.
- STEP 1Install through Market
Sign into the MQL5 account used for the purchase in Tools → Options → Community. Find Goldcrest in Market → My Purchases and install it.
- STEP 2Attach on demo
Open a compatible XAUUSD M1 Retail Hedging demo chart. Attach Goldcrest from Navigator → Expert Advisors → Market. Use one instance for that symbol and Magic Base.
- STEP 3Review operating controls
Check Enable New Entries, Account Risk (%), Maximum Allowed Risk (%), Magic Base and panel options. Confirm the defaults shown in the installed release.
- STEP 4Enable and observe
When ready, enable Allow Algo Trading in the EA properties and the terminal Algo Trading control. Check initialization in the panel and Experts/Journal; wait for qualifying conditions.

How do I pause without abandoning existing positions?
Set Enable New Entries to false, keep Goldcrest on the chart and keep MT5 running. Dynamic management cannot continue if you remove the EA, disable its trading permissions or disconnect the terminal.
Why might a setup produce no entry?
There may be no qualifying event, or the broker/risk checks may prevent an entry. Review permissions, market hours, quote availability, margin, minimum volume and the Experts/Journal message.
What does the risk percentage mean?
It is a requested initial-stop exposure target based on current account equity, not a guaranteed maximum cash loss. Costs, gaps and execution can increase losses, and simultaneous positions add exposure.
Can I use a different account mode, market or timeframe?
The prepared customer reference is MT5 Retail Hedging with XAUUSD M1. Generic compatibility checks on other symbols or periods do not establish researched performance or recommended use there.
How do updates and support work?
Use the same MQL5 account and Market → My Purchases for installation/updates. Review release notes and Inputs after an update. Use product Comments/Messages or MyB2B product help for assistance.
